Meeting Information

The 48th annual meeting of the Microcirculatory Society will be held March 30-April 1, 2001, in Orlando, Florida.

Our meeting will be held prior to and in conjunction with Experimental Biology 2001 (EB 2001). Posters will be presented Friday afternoon, March 30th, and Saturday morning, March 31st. The Young Investigator Symposium, Chaired by Dr. Samina Kanwar will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 31st.

The Young Investigator Symposium will be followed by The President Symposium from 3:15 - 5:15 PM. The President's Symposium is entitled:


"Signaling Mechanisms of Endothelial Nitric Oxide Synthase."

The Landis Award Lecture scheduled for Sunday, April 1st from 2:00 - 3:00 PM. It will be presented by Donald D. Heistad, M.D., Professor of Medicine, University of Iowa College of Medicine. The title of his talk is:

"What's New in the Cerebral Microcirculation?"

The Executive Council Meeting is scheduled for Friday morning, March 30th, beginning at 8:00 AM. The Annual Business Meeting will be held Friday afternoon, March 30th, from 4:15 to 5:15 PM. The Society Banquet is scheduled for Saturday evening, March 31st at at a location yet to be confirmed.

You will notice that registration for EB 2001 (advanced on-line registration) is significantly less expensive for both members ($170 vs $225) and nonmembers ($230 vs $285) if you pay in advance. Even students will receive a $10 discount for preregistration. We encourage you to pre register as it will make your life less hectic. However, if you do delay registration until the meeting, then registration will be opening Friday, March 30th, at 1:00 PM in the Orlando Convention Center.
