The August Krogh Young Investigator Award

 


August Krogh

Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, 1920

This annual award is intended for a graduate student, Ph.D. or M.D. in the early stages of a research career. The purpose of the award is to encourage excellence in microcirculatory research by new, young investigators. Eligibility for this award is limited to graduate students, recent graduates (less than 3 years after having received a Ph.D., or for M.D., 3 years following completion of a first residency). The award consists of a certificate and $500 to be used at the discretion of the awardee. The requirements include submission of a brief manuscript which describes research to be presented at the annual MCS meeting and a letter of nomination from a member of the Society. These materials should be forwarded to the Chairman of the Awards Committee prior to November 1st of the year preceeding the award.
